I have a Dell E1505 and it always asks for a cd-rom installation disk whenever i try to put a flash drive or memory card in. My memory card is a Lexar 128mb SD card.

Trying to decide which laptop to buy. Walmart has them both. Only diferrences I see are screen size, brands (Compaq vs Toshiba, AMD vs Intel), graphics, and price. Is the Toshiba worth $ 150 more than the Compaq? I know they are both bottom ends, will be just browsing net, watching a few dvds, few lower end games, maybe a bit of you tube.

Hard drives are expensive and i really only need space to put my rockband songs on. the 360 would detect the usb as a memory unit and i could put all my songs on the usb and play them from that right?? i was thinking of getting the 16 gb 360 flash drive but thats a bit pricey. i heard that i could get just a regular 16gb sandisk usb for cheaper and use that on the 360?? would it auto format or do i have to format it if it's a regular usb??

Dontez Tillman and Thomas McCloud were 14-year-old middle schoolers in Pontiac in the summer of 2008. Neither was old enough to drive, drink, nor apply for a video store membership.
Today, Tillman and McCloud are serving mandatory life in a Lapeer prison, convicted as adults of first-degree murder in November for the beating deaths of two homeless men over three days with older teens. “I screwed up my life,” McCloud told the Free Press in a prison interview. “I wish I could take it all back, that I never left the house that day.”
Their case brings into focus Michigan’s position in a national debate over how to handle young killers. The state has 352 prisoners serving mandatory life sentences for crimes committed while they were juveniles — the second-highest number in the world, behind Pennsylvania at 444.
Legislators and the U.S. Supreme Court are rethinking the idea of sending teens away to prison forever. Michigan is among 12 states where legislation has been introduced that would ban the practice, or at least give judges some discretion. Texas and Colorado in recent years have banned mandatory life for juveniles.
But Oakland County Prosecutor Jessica Cooper, whose office tried Tillman and McCloud, said the boys are exactly where they belong. “ These are gut-wrenching, soul-searching determinations,” she said. As the debate continues, Tillman, now 15, and McCloud, now 16, spend their days in a juvenile unit at the Thumb Correctional Facility, an adult prison in Lapeer. At age 21, they will be transferred to the state’s adult prison population to spend the rest of their lives.
It is important to note that the two cases from Florida currently before the Supreme Court, Graham and Sullivan, involve juveniles sentenced to LWOP without having cause a death. Consequently, unless the Supreme Court issues a very constitutional broad ruling in those cases, it is unlikely that middle schoolers like Tillman and McCloud will have their fates directly by these SCOTUS ruling.
It is also interesting to note that the two states noted in this article as having the largest number of mandatory life sentences for juvenile offenders are Michigan (which has never had the death penalty) and Pennsylvania (which functionally does not have an operating death penalty). Meanwhile, the national leader in use of the death penalty, Texas, has eliminated mandatory life for juveniles. These realities reinforce my sense that there can often be an inverse relationship between use of the death penalty for the worst murderers and use of other extreme punishments for less culpable offenders.
Michigan is one of the leading states in imposing life sentences on juveniles. Is this appropriate? Is it right? Is this a legitimate?

Portable Flash Drives: Is My PNY 8GB Mini Attache USB Flash Drive Corrupted? (1/30/2012)
I only used the device so I can view information I put on it for my PlayStation 3. Such as movies, photos and music. The other night I forgot it was in the USB port. I turned my PC off and after I turned the PC on the next morning, I saw the flash drive was still in the USB port. I plugged my flash drive into my PS3 and there was no data available. I plug the flash drive back into my PC and it shows that 3.5GBs have been used. Which is correct. However there are no files that I had put on it. There are, however, small files and the name of the files are nothing but symbols. But there is nothing in the file. Not exactly sure what that is all about.

I'm working on 3 essays, between home and school. However, at home I only have the basic Microsoft Works that computers come with, and the school computers use Microsoft Word 2007. When I saved the progress I'd made on my essays to a Flash Drive, the school computers opened it just fine and made it compatible with Microsoft Word 2007. When I went to save progress I'd made at school, it told me to save it, I'd have to change the format. I was wondering, will Microsoft Works at home be to open it and make it compatible as Word 2007 did? Thanks to those who can answer, because it'd be really irritating to make progress on my papers, and then not to be able to have those documents open at home.

I like the 8GB because for $ 10 more I get 4 more GB (compared to the pink one), but I'm really not happy with the color :[ The other two I really like :]

Why doesn’t my computer recognize my flash drive?
I have a PNY Attache 512 MB flash drive and my desktop is an eMachines T5026 Windows XP Home edition. Every time I plug in the flash drive into any USB port, my computer recognizes it because it comes up in the list of hardware to be removed safely, but it does not appear in My Computer or anywhere else, so I can't see my files and do anything to them. I still have to go to the tool to safely remove the flash drive.
What can I do so that my computer recognizes my flash drive? It used to recognize it perfectly fine before, but I don't know why it doesn't recognize it now. I know the flash drive works because I've tried it on another desktop that I have and it works.
Please help me figure this out.

Skytex Skypad Alpha 7" Android Tablet skytex.com I was looking for something smaller than my notebook to read at night. Most tablets seem too expensive or didn't have wireless n which is what I was looking to get since it's now almost standard on almost everything. This one fit the bill and also has wireless N built in. It's not the fastest but seems to fit the bill. We'll see how it performs. I'm testing it out and here's what I can tell you. 1. The battery which is not mentioned on their site lasted 4 hours and 20 minutes on one full charge. I did used it straight for surfing and downloading stuff during this time. I only set it down for a little bit once but left it just sitting here. So I was very happy with the battery because it should make it on a cross country flight here in the US, well almost. 2. The power supply cord is very short unfortunately. You'll be lucky to set it at the edge of any table. It's also one of those small L shape types which means you'll have to unplug something else to make it fit. 3. The included stylus is small and a bit weird(cheap) since you have to unscrew the cap and the tablet has no built in storage for it. It has a plastic plug so you can use the earphone jack to hold it, but it just hangs from there. 4. Since the charging plug is on the bottom, you can't set it horizontally on the stand, it will not work. You'll have to leave it flat on the table or turn it on it's side and use it like that on the stand. This is very annoying. 5 ...

What is better? A 1GB U3 Smart Drive with a portable software platform that lets you easily manage your programs and settings, or a cheaper standard 1GB Flash Drive that does not have such abilities? (Unless you take the time to look for stand-alone portable applications)
